US Activism

Im aware that some of you given your location ect may find it difficult too join or create an anarchist organization.

If you find it difficult don't worry there are plenty of things you can do

1 - (Anti Capitalist postering) - make your own or get them off the net - be creative, microsoft paint comes in handy. Proceed to print as many as possible and then strategically place them around your locality, school ect. Many will be torn down so be sure to print alot. TIP - Glue the entire back of them and stick them to the inside doors of toilet cubical s - this way there memorable and CANT BE TORN DOWN -- without substantial effort.

Postering is an extremely effective tactic if your trying to create a buzz - good postering can give the impression that there is a large movement already underway. When people think there is already a large movement in progress they are more likely to exhibit interest or attempt to join.

2 - Talk to friends and find out who's interested - be subtle. If you can get a few people together your sorted -

3 - Produce anarchist pamphlets and leaflets - hand them out in public (preferably with friends) ideas like democrtic organization of workplace strike a cord with many people regardless of initial political persuasion. Enter cafes - Mcdonalds ect and distribute your material to the workers on site - (get talking to people about what we advocate and who we are). When your distributing material to workers you might have to deal with A - Managers B - Security

Fuck managers (ignore the bastards) - when/if security approaches engage them in a friendly manner distribute your material and GET TALKING !. - Remember security are predominantly low wage just like the floor workers youl be talking too. Dont be nervous be positive and helpful just remember were trying to win people over here.

4 - Im aware that many of you may live in small town USA - that said I would like to dissuade you from trying any more radical tactics (occupations - riots ect) Given Anarchism is still relatively unheard of in many parts of the US you may run the risk of isolating yourselves by engaging in such activities.

Although the events in Europe are inspirational you should understand that the political climate is very different over here - there is a strong anarchist, socialist tradition and the organizations are well established.

yea, but what happens when they realize there is nothing to join? you have to also create groups with your friends. you can't do one thing and ignore another, you have to do the whole lot of things. anarchism is an ideology which is made of many interwoven ideas. one or two of these ideas might not be too effective (although they normally have positive effects).

i saw this vid of an argentine guy (only an argentine would do this) who was going arround with a huge sign on him (on his back and front) which said "wake up imbecile", and with smaller letters it said something like "what if only 10% of the money in the world is real?". then there was people running arround and putting stickies which said that all over the place, including on other people's clothes. everyone was looking and reading the stickies.
this technique really get's people's attention. but you have to do it along with posters in places, pamphlets, and forming small anarchist groups. groups are important to organize and to get the people inetersted to start participating. if you can get an anarchist group to manage an extracurricular activity in the school, you will get a ton of atention. it could be a music group or any art group. you could even make a study group or a group to teach people about a certain subject (in an anarchist manner). what's even better is if that group is the kind of group in which the practice of anarchism would really show, for example, a class.

and dont forget to do things yourself instead of buying them. that also gets attention. it is something which gets people in because it involves lifestyle. if people realize that there is an anarchist lifestyle, they might be inetersted, even if they dont think anarchism can work.

but dont get too cought up with this and forget occupying, protesting, and getting rid of the state. these are important things, although they should be done only when the moment is right. if people get to cought up in the little things, they'll forget to do what's important, and we will just become another subculture controlled by the media and corporations.

Even if you cant create an anarchist group - you can still spread anti capitalist propaganda solo - it will heighten awareness. If you can create a small group then thats great, but don't think you cant do anything if your restricted in that department for whatever reason.

if you only spread anti-capitalist propaganda, it'll get the image that communists are popping up in the US. it'd be good to spread pro-anarchism posters, making anarchism look like the solution to the problems of this time.

Pro - anarchist is a given .

This is a good one - Im going to edit it before printing - (putting an Anarchist phrase at the bottom).

anarchism is unheard of where I live its not small town but just a kind of suburba city where their isn't even lots of crimes you could probably leave your door wide open for a month and not get robbed lol.....I do know couple of people interested in anarchism we talk about it but they mostly are for some type of government with strict regulation
